Join us at our recurring Estonian language cafés for a chance to practice your Estonian! The cafés are especially good for beginners who are looking to practice chatting about everyday topics in a relaxed environment.
Situations and topics that arise in day-to-day life are discussed at the cafes. These include things like introducing yourself, looking for work, training and studying, communicating with colleagues, travelling, enjoying hobbies and marking special days and occasions, as well as everyday situations such as attending doctor’s appointments and dealing with officials.
So what do they involve?
Here are five important things you should know about them:
Väliseesti Muuseum (VEMU) Torontos asutas Arved Viirlaiu 100. sünniaastapäeva puhul 2022. aastal kirjandusauhinna, mida antakse välja kord kahe aasta jooksul A. Viirlaiu sünnipäeval 11. aprillil Eestit ja eestlust mõtestava silmapaistva ilukirjandusliku teose eest.
Auhinnale saab kandideerida teosega, mis on trükis ilmunud 2022.-2023. aastal. Kandideerimise tähtaeg on 10. veebruar 2024.
Kandidaate võivad esitada organisatsioonid ja üksikisikud, sealhulgas žüriiliikmed. Auhinnale kandideerimiseks tuleb VEMUle esitada vabas vormis taotlus koos põhjendusega ja auhinnale esitatav teos või selle koopia.
Auhinna saaja valib välja žürii koosseisus: Tiina Kirss, Janika Kronberg, Sirje Olesk, Kaja Telmet, Jaan Undusk. Auhinnafondi rahastab VEMU. Preemia suuruseks on 2500 Kanada dollarit.
