A lecture by Dr. Sirje Kiin “Ivar Ivask – Our Literary Man of the World”

Dr. Sirje Kiin will hold a lecture in the main hall of Tartu College on Thursday, August 30th, 2012 commencing at 7 pm. The topic will be “Ivar Ivask – Our Literary Man of the World”.

S. Kiin will acquaint us with the diverse life of the poet, artist and literature professor of Estonian-Latvian heritage. She will also introduce us to his poetry (written in German, Estonian and English), his achievements as an artist as well as his life’s work as editor of the international journal Books Abroad/World Literature Today, founder of the Neustadt International Prize for Literature (which is known as the American Nobel Prize) and originator of the Puterbaugh Conferences, which introduce Spanish, French and other literatures to the Anglo-American public.
