VEMU’s 5th Fundraising Dinner

April 23, 2016
7 pm
Tartu College, 310 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M5S 1W4

Saturday, April 23rd at 7 pm at Tartu College, VEMU will be hosting its 5th fundraising dinner. Marko Matvere (Estonia), the Year of the Sea ambassador, will be performing. Appetizers at 6 pm.

In Estonia 2016 is the Year of Sea Culture, which gives us the chance to look towards the sea and ask ourselves, are we, as Estonians just people who live on the coast or people of the coast? The goal of the Year of Sea Culture is to appreciate the history of Estonia and the sea, as well as pay attention to the sea traditions.

The theme for VEMU’s fundraising dinner this year is Taste of the European Seas, which will be prepared by rising Canadian gourmet chef Paul Lillakas. As the title suggests, the appetizers and main course will give you the opportunity to taste delicious bites from the sea. Those, who may not love seafood, will also have the option to enjoy a land protein dish instead. A vegetarian option is also available.

The main speaker will be a visitor from Estonia, Marko Matvere, who in addition to being an actor and musician, has also been chosen as the ambassador for the Year of Sea Culture. Marko Matvere will not only tell stories, but will sing some sea tunes with accordionist Peep Raun.

Tickets: $150
