Native Language Day

On Sunday, March 17th, commencing at 3:00 p.m. at Tartu College, we will be celebrating Native Language Day. The theme for the day will be “Married to Estonia?” – what it means for a non-Estonian speaker to be married to an ardent Estonian.

We will hear Kathy Põldre’s account titled “Estonia in my Life”. In addition, we will view two Estonian Televison programmes : “Kahekõne / Dialogue” (Indrek Treufeldt’s interview with Ka Bo Chan, a Hong Kong Chinese, who is now a resident of Tallinn, 2012) and “Jõuluks koju / Home for Christmas” (about Epp and Justin Petrone’s life in Estonia, 2012).

The speaker’s remarks will be in English and Estonian; the television programmes will be in Estonian.
