For a small nation to survive it is important that the preservation of national traditions and culture is done primarily by the citizens’ own initiative. We will discuss aspects such as, how far Estonia has gotten in sparking citizen initiative, as well as, why it is important for an independent economy to increase the percentage of cooperative banking in the Estonian banking landscape. We will also discuss the establishment of Kodumaa Kapital hoiu- laenuühistu (Homeland Capital – Savings and Loan Cooperative) and the goals of becoming the first ethical Estonian cooperative bank. Those who are interested will be given the opportunity to join the Kodumaa Kapital HLÜ and make a contribution towards achieving our goals.
