On Sunday, November 16th, 2014, 4pm at Tartu College Bibliography Club and ENÜS are celebrating Miina Härma’s 150th birthday. Lecture is given by Elma Miller, MA. Miina Härma’s music is performed by choir “Estonia”.

Miina Härma (till 1935 Miina Hermann; born February 9, 1864 at Kõrveküla in Raadi parish – died November 16, 1941 at Tartu) was a composer, conductor, organist and teacher. She was widely recognised composer and a first professional female composer in EstoniaMost of her works were forms of vocal music. She wrote more than 200 choral pieces. She also did folk music arrangements. Probably the most known are “Tuljak” and “Lauliku lapsepõli”.
